About me

Tatiana Ivanova

Hello! My name is Tatiana Ivanova. I am a guide, professional sommelier, wine expert and judge at the Catad'Or international wine competition.

I have lived in Chile since 2016 and know the country from the two sides that matter most to me: its history and its wine. Trained as a historian in Russia, I continued my studies here in Santiago, in history and tourism as well as in winemaking.

After numerous wine education programs — including at the prestigious Pontificia Universidad Católica and sommelier school — and years of hands-on experience, I have studied the history and winemaking of Chile in depth.

On a walking tour of Santiago's historic center we climb Santa Lucía hill, visit Plaza de Armas and La Moneda presidential palace, talk about the religious orders in Chile and visit their churches, and stroll through the Lastarria neighborhood. You will learn how each historical period shaped Santiago's architecture, and we will talk about the most remarkable figures and characters in Chilean history. Every route is designed individually for your group according to your interests, with optional visits to museums and galleries.

Wine tourism is a special kind of travel for anyone who loves learning something new and discovering a country's culture. I offer private wine tours from Santiago through Chile's wine valleys, with winery visits and tastings of Chilean wines. The regions closest to Santiago — the Maipo, Casablanca and Aconcagua valleys — make a comfortable day trip. To explore more distant valleys, it is best to plan a trip of several days. Each wine tour is designed individually, around your interests, available time and preferences.

My masterclasses with wine tastings are more than an introduction to wine, its flavors and aromas: they are an educational experience and a chance to expand your knowledge. You will learn about the history of Chilean winemaking, the main wine valleys, grape varieties and the character of the Chilean terroir, and how to pair wine with food. You don't need to be a lover of alcoholic drinks — what matters most is curiosity, learning something new, good conversation and discovering Chile's culture through wine.

Prices, booking and payment

Who is it for

Independent travelers and small groups, wine professionals and people in the wine trade.

Walking tour prices

Guide services: USD 250 for a group of 1–6 people. Museum tickets, lunch and other expenses are paid separately.

Wine tour prices

Each wine tour is quoted individually. One-day trips include the guide and a car with driver. Multi-day tours are also possible. Tastings at the wineries are usually paid separately.

Masterclass and tasting prices

Ready-made programs (wine included): USD 250 for 1–4 people, USD 300 for 5–6 people. Custom tastings (wine not included): USD 250 for a group of 1–6 people.

Booking and payment

Booking is confirmed once we agree on the program. Payment is made at the meeting point before the activity starts.

What to know before your trip to Chile

Expect higher prices than you think

Santiago is one of the more expensive cities in Chile and South America, especially for restaurants, hotels, taxis and tourist services. Check prices in advance and allow some extra budget.

Keep an eye on your belongings

In tourist areas, avoid showing off expensive phones, cameras or jewelry, keep your bag with you and never leave things unattended.

Don't expect the service style you're used to

Service in Chile is often slower and less formal than many visitors from Europe or North America expect. It isn't rudeness — it's simply a different service culture.
